Chelsea vs Bayern Munich will slug it out in a crunch Champions League round of 16 fixture at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues will be going into the match with confidence following a 2-1 win over their London rivals Tottenham to keep next season's Champions League hopes alive.

And the Bavarians maintained top spot in the Bundesliga after labouring to a slim win over relegation-threatened Padeborn.

Chelsea and Bayern have had interesting fixtures in the past with the last two of them ending on penalties in the 2012 Champions League final and 2013 UEFA Super Cup as both sides settled for a win each.

One of the unforgettable ties between the pair was at Stamford Bridge was in 2005 when the Jose Mourinho's led side defeated the Germans by 4-2.

Marcos Alonso breaks down from the left and cuts into the 18-yard box and shoots but a decent save from Manuel Neuer as the ball goes into the corner flank. Alonso gets the header but it did not trouble Neuer. Nice stuff from Chelsea.

Lovely build-up play from Chelsea from Alonso to Kovacic as Mason Mount drills in a low cross but it was too strong for Giroud to meet. At the other end, Gnabry sends a pin-point cross to Thomas Muller who cleverly heads the ball against the post. That was close!

A connecting pass from Serge Gnabry to Robert Lewandowski but Willy Caballero makes a catch on the feet of the Polish striker. Caballero makes another save within the space of a minute with his foot as he stops Lewandowski's chip for a corner kick.
