Manchester United replicated their dominance again on Sunday afternoon, February 23, with a massive 3-0 victory over Watford at the Theatre of Dreams.
The Premier League encounter saw Anthony Martial continue his remarkable goal-scoring run with another fantastic lone strike that kept Red Devils' top-four hope alive.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his machines came into the game head high following their 2-0 defeat of Chelsea at Stamford Bridge after the winter break.
And it was Bruno Fernandes who quickly changed the score-sheet for United via a 42nd-minute penalty.
The Portuguese attacking midfielder was fouled in the box by Foster and the referee blew for a penalty which he calmly slotted into the net.
Watford got the chance of bringing the game on balance with Troy Deeney firing into the net only for VAR to rule it out because it hit Dawson's arm on the way to the post.
Anthony Martial doubled the lead in the 58th minute. The forward was close to being offside but he quickly lifted the ball over Foster to change the score sheet in favour of the home side.
The French international scored his third consecutive goal for United, filling the void for injured Marcus Rashford.
Mason Greenwood made it a three-goal lead for the host with an unexpected long-range shot that left Foster helpless between the sticks courtesy of Bruno Fernandes assist.
Anthony Martial was subbed for Odion Ighalo who made his Old Trafford debut in the 80th minute and the Nigerian international came close to getting his first goal in Red Devils shirt only for Foster to deny him in the 84th minute.
Watford tried to pull a comeback after Greenwood was subbed for Tahith Chong but Man United seemed to have got the key to the Hornets' counter-attack.
The game ended in victory for Man United who now sit on the fifth spot with 41 points in 27 games.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that Man United pair Scott McTominay and Mason Greenwood are in line to face Watford after returning to the Red Devils' squad ahead of the league meeting.
McTominay has been out of action for close to three months now with a knee ligament picked on Boxing Day.
Prior to the injury, the Scot was an integral squad member under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer owing to Paul Pogba's continued injury layoff.
