Belgium international Kevin De Bruyne reportedly faces financial hit at Premier League side Manchester City after they were banned from playing Champions League for two seasons.

Manchester City are still battling to cope with their recent ban from UEFA as the Citizens are planning to appeal the decision.

The club's chief are also reported to have told their coaches and players that the two years ban slapped on them will soon be upheld.

But before that happens, HLN in Belgium have claimed that Kevin De Bruyne will miss £2.5m in bonuses in his contract he signed for Manchester City.

This is because the Belgian will not be able to play in the next two seasons in the Champions League.

Kevin De Bruyne signed a new contract at Manchester City in January 2018 and there are now reports that he could be leaving the Etihad stadium due to the recent development.

For the past two seasons, Kevin De Bruyne has been superb for Manchester City in all competitions as he played an important role in helping the Citizens win their last two Premier League titles.

Meanwhile, this season, Manchester City will find it difficult for them to retain their Premier League title as Liverpool have been tipped to win it.

Earlier, had reported how Pep Guardiola reportedly told his players at Manchester City that he will not leave the Premier League side even if the Citizens should get demoted to the lower division.

Pep Guardiola's assurance comes few days after his club were banned for two seasons from Champions League in which the club are planning to appeal.
