Nigerian singer, Damini Ogulu, professionally called Burna Boy, seems to have a lot of fans and haters alike. This appears to be the case going by the reactions that followed his Grammy nomination and eventual loss.
In a new post shared on social media via his Twitter page, Burna Boy has spoken on fake love in his life and in the industry.
According to the Anybody crooner, compliments do not mean a lot to him because those who wish him well to his face are also the same people who want him to fail just so that they can feel good about themselves.
Burna wrote: “The same people that wish you the best to your face are the same people that hope and pray you Fail so that they can feel better about themselves. That’s just Life. That’s why compliments mean nothing to me because hate, jealousy and ‘it should have been me’ are sugar-coated by them”.

Just recently, Burna Boy got Nigerians talking on social media after he said in a series of tweets that he is the best after Afrobeats legend, Fela Anikulapo Kuti.
Burna also said that nobody paved the way for him in the industry and that he is responsible for the respect Nigerians are currently enjoying in the entertainment scene.
To this, Nigerians had a series of mixed reactions on social media. Many people described the singer as being arrogant and they rejoiced that he did not even win the Grammy he was nominated for. Others, however, said he is right to feel he is the next best thing after Fela.
