Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes has once again been recognized in his native country of Portugal after been named as the best midfielder for the month of January 2020.

Bruno Fernandes was voted for on Wednesday, February 12, by the Premeira Liga coaches who were satisfied with his performances before he left Manchester United.

His efforts in the final month for Sporting Lisbon before his exit was however appreciated by the coaches who gave him the award.

The 25-year-old footballer has already made his debut for Manchester United in their encounter against Wolves where he was named man of the match because of his superb display.

Before leaving Portuguese side Sporting Lisbon, Bruno Fernandes played in the club's 3-1 win over Vitoria Setubal and scored a brace in what was his farewell match.

But after playing his first game for Manchester United against Wolves, Fernandes still traveled to Portugal to watch his former club as he wanted to know how they have been doing without him.

Bruno played 137 games in his two and a half years at Sporting Lisbon before he left scoring 63 goals for the Portuguese side.

Meanwhile, Manchester United are currently in Spain on a winter break where they are preparing for their next Premier League game against Chelsea.

The Red Devils are six points behind Chelsea who are placed fourth on the Premier League standings and a win for them will help their quest for Champions League spot.

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Manchester United new striker Odion Ighalo was reportedly banned from entering the Red Devils training ground over fears of coronavirus disease.

Virtually all the nations in the world are currently taking precautions against the deadly disease which emanated from China.

Odion Ighalo played in the Chinese League before Manchester United went for his signature and was signed for six-month deal as replacement for injured striker Marcus Rashford.

There have been reports that Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could give Odion Ighalo his debut for the team against Chelsea in their next game.

Manchester United are currently in Marbella on a training camp for the winter break without Odion Ighalo who was asked to stay back in England.
