More Nigerians going to Canada to seek greener pasture, report says

Canada has become a choice destination for Nigerians seeking greener pastures outside the shores of the country.

QZ.com reports that based on the data published by the Canadian government, more Nigerians are being issued permanent resident permits.

The news outlet reports that the numbers have tripled since 2015.

It added that the rate even outstrips some of Canada’s biggest sources of immigrants over the last five years.

This is said to include India, China and Philippines.

This shows that Canada is really desirous of expanding its labour force.

This will ultimately also the average age of its workers as its population advances in years.

The report stated that Canada in 2019 welcomed 341,000 immigrants in total.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that the Nigeria US-Canada Diaspora Forum has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to sustain the momentum in the fight against terrorism.
