The Nigerian entertainment industry was recently thrown into a state of mourning following the death of one of the pioneers of the music scene in the country, Victor Olaiya.

Among those that have now joined the mourning of Olaiya’s death is legendary music star 2baba Idibia. The singer took to his official Instagram page with a photo of the deceased music icon.

2baba noted that he is devastated by the passing of Olaiya who he described as a mentor, maestro and a legend.

Recall that Legit.ng previously reported that Olaiya passed on at the age of 89 at exactly 12pm on Wednesday, February 12, 2020. The music maestro took his last breath at LUTH in Lagos state.

The sad news was reported by the managing director of Evergreen Music Company, Bimbo Esho, via her Facebook page.

2baba appreciated late Olaiya for creating beautiful music and also serving as a source of inspiration to other artistes.

Bringing his short note to an end, he pointed out that it was an honor to share the same stage with Olaiya during his days on earth.
