- President Buhari has been asked by the PDP to do more for Nigerians instead of going on condolence visit
- According to the opposition party, the people have lost confidence in the government of Buhari
- Going further, the party urged Buhari to visit other states experiencing attacks by road
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called on President Buhari to find ways to end killings in Nigeria.
The opposition party disclosed this in reaction to Buhari's visits to Maiduguri, Borno state.
According to the PDP, it is necessary for Buhari to go beyond his sympathy visit to Borno state.
In a statement on the party's Facebook page, the PDP said Nigerians have lost confidence in the Buhari presidency.
The party asked Buhari to visit Kaduna, Kano, Benue, Plateau, Yobe, Adamawa, Zamfara, Kogi, Niger, Taraba and other states.
The PDP said this will make the president feel the pulse of the country and understand how his poor handling of security and infrastructure has caused Nigeria.
Going further, the party said it hoped Buhari's visit to Borno is not just a publicity stunt.
Specifically, the PDP asked Buhari to travel by road in order to see and feel the agony Nigerians on roads.
The PDP added that Nigerians does not deserve a president, who sits in the comfort of the Presidential villa and luxury jets, remaining indifferent to the pains, anguish and torments that compatriots suffer on daily basis.
It added that if the president makes such visits, he would realise that those calling on him to rejig the nation's security architecture mean well for Nigeria.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that Jiddari-Polo, a suburb near Maiduguri, the capital of Borno state was attacked by Boko Haram insurgents in the evening of Wednesday, February 12.
