Coronavirus: Nigeria gets 3 testing centres for deadly disease
- Nigerian can now effectively screen for coronavirus according to the minister of health
- This is as a result of some newly acquired equipment
- The minister also revealed that Nigeria has set up three testing centres
Nigerians can now be assured that the federal government will actively battle and defeat the deadly coronavirus if it somehow finds its way into the shores of the country.
This is due to the acquisition of new equipment that will enable us to test for the disease.
Dr Osagie Ehanire, Nigeria's minister of health made this know during Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting at the State House,The Nation reports.
Going further, he disclosed that Nigeria has also set up three laboratories across the country to test suspected patients for the disease.
The laboratories are in Lagos, Abuja and Irrua in Edo state to handle such tests.
The minister also assured Nigerians that no case of the virus has been detected in Nigeria.

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and eight states across Nigeria have been listed by the World Health Organisation as states at high risk of a coronavirus outbreak.
The WHO mapped out the states - Lagos, Kano, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Port Harcourt, Enugu, Delta and Bayelsa - as top priority areas for preparedness against the Novel coronavirus outbreak in Nigeria.
