- A primary school teacher, Obiageri Mazi, recently gained the attention of Nigerians on social media after the governor of Borno state noticed her hard work

- A kind and concerned Nigerian has now promised to give Miss Obiageri Mazi the sum of N1 million to reward her hard work

Nigeria has a lot of things plaguing her and one of them is the nonchalant attitude of government workers to their jobs, particularly at schools and hospitals.

Well, it is refreshing to see that not everybody regard government work with levity and they are actually concerned about the job.

Just recently a hardworking teacher, Obiageri Mazi, caught the attention of the governor of Borno state, Babagana Zulum, despite her being an Igbo Christian.

The governor had paid an unannounced inspection visit to the school and he met Obiageri already at work as early as 6:30am. Zulum was very impressed by her hard work that he gave her the sum of N100,000 and also promoted her to the position of an assistant headmistress.

Well, another concerned Nigerian has decided to up the ante by pledging to donate the sum of N1 million to Obiageri.

In tweets shared by one Dogo M Shettima on Twitter, he explained that Miss Mazi will be receiving the sum of N1 million from a concerned Nigerian who decided to donate after her story went viral.

The unnamed benefactor was also impressed by her dedication and patriotism on the job.

This is very encouraging. Congrats to Miss Mazi.

In other news, reported that Nigerian lawyer and human rights activist, Femi Falana, reacted to the Igbo teacher's story.

Why Governor Zulum’s reward of Igbo teacher is indictment on divisive politicians - Femi Falana

Falana who commended Zulum for rewarding Obiageli Mazi, a class teacher in Shehu Sanda Kyarimi 2 primary school irrespective of her religion and ethnicity, said the governor did well by promoting national integration in line with the constitution.

The lawyer said the governor’s actions had indicted Nigerians who were counting the thousands of Nigerian citizens that have been killed and abducted by the satanic Boko Haram insurgents along the religious divide.
