Chelsea have verbally agreed to sign Hakim Ziyech from Ajax in the summer after failing to land a winter signing.

The Ajax midfielder will now reportedly join the Blues ahead of the 2020/21 season for a £38million fee.

Chelsea looking for a top-four place finish in the Premier League this season but the Blues have been pressured with the final Champions League slot.

The Stamford Bridge outfit is already looking ahead of the summer after failing to land the Moroccan midfielder from Dutch giants Ajax during the winter transfer market.

Ziyech was instrumental in his team's clash with Chelsea in the Champions League group stage, and the 26-year-old has been watched closely by the English side.

According to Dutch news media De Telegraaf, the Blues have agreed a verbal agreement for the Moroccan attacker to complete a £38million move this summer.

Ziyech was in Morocco's squad that played the AFCON 2019 squad after choosing his native land over the Netherlands.

Chelsea seem to have now beaten Premier League rivals Man United and Arsenal for the signature of one of the sought after stars in Europe.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Mauricio Pochettino has been consistently linked with becoming Man United's new manager as the Argentine boss was spotted with the club's new PR advisor Neil Ashton.

Ashton was appointed by United's executive vice chairman Ed Woodward as a consultant in the New Year.

Pochettino was also accompanied by assistant Jesus Perez at Griffin Park, and is also close friends with Leeds boss and compatriot Marcelo Bielsa.
