- Liverpool fans have tipped Vigil van Dijk to win EPL Player of the Year award again
- The Dutch centre-back won the prestigious award last season despite Liverpool not winning the title
- The Merseyside team are 22 points clear on the Premier League table and are on the verge of making history
Liverpool fans are already basking in the euphoria of winning the Premier League title which has, for over 30 years, eluded their partly enviable history in the modern-day football.
The Merseyside team are not just a team to beat, they are the most consistent team in Europe since the beginning of the season.
Liverpool took the bull by the horn and surprisingly pulled the storm with a 22-point lead on the Premier League log, leaving the defending champions Man City's situation in a sheer conundrum, as they will need to come back next year.
With the EPL title already looking their ways, overtly excited Liverpool fans have been voting who they think will take the Player of the Year gong - and for a second-time record they want Vigil van Dijk to cart away the award.
The Dutch centre-back beat all odds to win the award last season and later went on to beat two best players in the world Cristian Ronaldo and Lionel Messi to UEFA's Best Player of the Year award.
Now, Liverpool fans think the sensational defender deserves the honour once more for his tremendous performance at the defence which has seen Liverpool concede just 15 goals in 25 games so far.
In a pool by ESPN, Liverpool fans gave Van Dijk a staggering 37% of the 176,000 votes cast, while Jordan Henderson came behind him with 19% and Sadio Mane sealed the 3rd with 18% of the polls.
A section of Reds fans also believed that sensational left-back Trent-Alexander Arnold is also deserving of the award for his lovely contribution this season.
The England international has produced 10 assists, a replication of his form last season which helped Liverpool win the Champions League.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that Mark Gretton, a Liverpool fan, is confident his club will be crowned league champions at the end of this season and has already gotten a tattoo that reads 'Premier League Champions 2019/20'.
Liverpool have a 22-point lead over Man City and Gretton believes its game over despite 13 league games left to play in the season.
The Brighton-based Liverpool supporter told Liverpool Echo: "I’m so confident now we've won it, that I got the tattoo done.
