- A memorial service to cap weeks of tributes for the two has been scheduled for Monday, February 24

Basketball icon Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna fondly known as Gigi have finally been laid to rest after involving in a tragic helicopter crash which took their lives.

The two are understood to have been buried last week after a private family service held in Los Angeles in which they did not allow photographers inside.

According to Daily Mail, the service was held quietly on Friday, February 7, at Pacific View Memorial Park in Corona del Mar, California with no photographers present.

Information about the burials was revealed in death certificates issued by Los Angeles' Department of Public Health, listing burial as the type of deposition for the two.

The interment was initially planned for Westwood Village Memorial Park before a last minute change of plan that settled for Pacific View.

Los Angeles Times reports a memorial service for Bryant and Gigi has been slated for Monday, February 24, at Staples Centre.

The occasion will crown days of mourning following the Sunday, January 26, helicopter crash that claimed the life of the Lakers star and the daughter.

Others who perished in the tragic incident include the pilot, parents, players and Mamba Sports Academy basketball team coach

The tragic death of Kobe Bryant and daughter came as a huge shock not to only basketball lovers, but to the world entirely considering his fame in the game.

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Kobe Bryant's wife Vanessa admitted that she is yet to come to terms with reality regarding death of her husband and daughter, Gianna.

Kobe, Gianna and seven other people were involved in a helicopter crash last month while they were travelling in crashed in Calabasas, California.

Vanessa has posted a heartfelt message on Instagram concerning the death of her 41-year-old husband and 13-year-old daughter.

In her message, Vanessa stated that she will be their other three children Natalia, Bianka and Capri after her 19-year union with her husband ended abruptly.
