- Ousmane Dembele has been ruled out of action for Barcelona for the next six months
- The Spanish giants made this known that he has been operated in Finland
- Dembele may also miss France's campaign in the coming 2020 Euro championship
Reigning Spanish champions Barcelona have been dealt with a big blow as forward Ousmane Dembele has been ruled out for the next six months after hamstring injury.
This means that Barcelona will now have to be without the France international for their remaining matches this season in all competitions.
Since Ousmane Dembele came off injured in Barcelona's Champions League win over his former team Borussia Dortmund in November last year, the Frenchman has not played any game till now.
He has been recuperating from the injury for the past few weeks before it got aggravated last week in training and had to undergo surgery in Finland on Tuesday, February 11.
And after the surgery, Barcelona announced that it was successful and therefore confirmed that Ousmane Dembele will miss action for the next six months.
As in stands presently, Ousmane Dembele's latest injury is also expected to be a severe blow for France as he may not take part in their campaign for the Euro 2020 championship.
Dembele joined Barcelona from Borussia Dortmund in August 2017 and has played 74 games so far for the Catalan giants in all competitions scoring 19 goals.
Meanwhile, the Catalans have been linked with Real Sociedad star Willian Jose as the Catalans want him to be an emergency replacement for injured Ousmane Dembele.
Playing 22 games this season in the La Liga, Willian Jose has scored eight goals and Barcelona chiefs believe he will be a good replacement for Dembele.
But they will have to meet Real Sociedad's massive release clause for them to have the chance of signing Willian Jose.
Barcelona are currently occupying second position on the Spanish La Liga standings with 49 points after 23 games and they are three points behind leaders Los Blancos.
Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Lionel Messi's brilliance helped Barcelona outshine stubborn Real Betis in their Spanish League clash over the weekend.
The Argentine provided a hat-trick of assists for Frenkie De Jong, Sergio Busquets, and Clement Lenglet in their 3-2 victory over Betis at the Benito Villamarin on Sunday night.
Although the hosts tried subduing the Catalans twice with Nabil Fekir scoring twice, his goals were not just enough to help his side salvage at least a point from the fixture.
The victory saw Quique Setien claim maximum points over his former side in his first return to the club since he was named the new Barca coach last month.
