President Muhammadu Buhari has declared that administration is fully determined to combat and defeat all acts of criminality, banditry, and terrorism in the country.
The Nigerian president made the statement on Tuesday, February 11, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, when speaking at a meeting with the Executive Committee members of the Nigerian Community in Ethiopia (NICE).
Garba Shehu, a presidential aide, disclosed in a statement that the president assured Nigerians at home and abroad that his administration is resolved to protect them.
He said in addition to the protecting Nigerians, his administration has also prioritised fighting corruption and bringing prosperity to Nigerians.
Meanwhile, President Buhari has expressed sympathy for Nigerians recently killed by Boko Haram in Borno state.
The president, his delegation and members of the Nigerian community in Ethiopia observed a minute of silence in honour of those who passed away in the attack.
The honour was done to the victims before the commencement of the president's meeting with Nigerians living in Ethiopia.
The president had commiserated with the family of the victims in a statement released by his media aide, Garba Shehu on Sunday, Monday, February 10.
The president assured them that his administration will continually frustrate the operations of terrorist group, Boko Haram, and bring it to an end.
According to a statement made available to Legit.ng, Ibikunle Daramola, the NAF's spokesperson said the groundbreaking operation was conducted by the troops of Operation Rattle Snake 3 near the Sambisa Forest in Borno state on Saturday, February 8.
Legit.ng gathers that the troops through their fighter jets, destroyed the settlement where the terrorists had assembled for a meeting.
Both the terrorists and their settlement were destroyed by the bombs detonated from the NAF's attack aircraft.
Still on security, the Centre for Social Justice, Equity and Transparency (CESJET) has passed a vote of confidence to Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai and troops of the Nigerian Army involved in the war against terrorism.
The centre said the Army chief has surpassed expectations despite obvious plots from desperate politicians and their collaborators to undermine the gains.
In a statement signed by the executive secretary, Isaac Ikpa, the Centre said it is pleased by the COAS, his troops and President Muhammadu Buhari for the level of operations carried out against the insurgents and other criminal elements.
Ikpa urging Nigerians to support the Army in its ultimate of goal restoring total peace and tranquillity in the land said Nigeria is troubled by instigated multi-dimensional security breaches.
He said President Buhari has proved himself as the leader Nigeria truly deserves by diminishing the blazing swords of destructive forces against the nation-state.
