Tears as abducted, murdered Kaduna seminarian is buried

It was tears galore as a seminarian at the Good Shepherd Catholic Major Seminary in Kaduna state, Michael Nnadi, was buried on Tuesday, February 11.
The Late Nnadi was kidnapped and eventually murdered by armed bandits in the northwestern state.
Friends, family, and colleagues cried uncontrollably as the body of the young seminarian was laid to rest at the premises of the school’s cemetery.

The Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Mathew Kukah, in his sermon said: “Nigeria is at a point where we must call for a verdict.”
According to him, “Nigeria of today does not possess that set of goals or values for which any sane citizen is prepared to die for her.”
He accused President Muhammadu Buhari of bringing nepotism and clannishness into the military and the ancillary security agencies, adding that “the present administration is marked by supremacist and divisive policies that would push our country to the brink.”
His word: “This president has displayed the greatest degree of insensitivity in managing our country’s rich diversity.
“He has subordinated the larger interests of the country to the hegemonic interests of his co-religionists and clansmen and women.
“The impression created now is that to hold a key and strategic position in Nigeria today, it is more important to be a northern Muslim than a Nigerian.”
He continued: “The persecution of Christians in northern Nigeria is as old as the modern Nigerian state.
“Their experiences and fears of northern, Islamic domination are documented in the Willinks Commission Report way back in 1956.
“It was also the reason why they formed a political platform called, the Non-Muslim League.”
Nnadi and three other seminarians were abducted from their hostel by bandits on Friday, January 10, 2020, and taken to an unknown destination.
While the three other victims were later released from captivity, Nnadi was killed and his corpse found along the Kaduna- Abuja highway on Sunday, February 2.
The death of 18-year old Nnadi had sparked outrage among Catholics in Nigeria and the Christian community in general.
Many Nigerians accuse the Buhari administration of failing to address the mounting insecurity in the country.
Almost on a daily basis, Nigerians are killed or kidnapped by armed men on highways or right inside their homes.
