- Senator Shehu Sani has berated those attacking some northern elders
- The former lawmaker said that people at the helms of affairs are aversed to the truth
- Sani also noted that the critics could not save the people of the north from insecurity
A former lawmaker who represented Kaduna Central at the Senate during the eight National Assembly, Shehu Sani, has reacted to attacks on northern elders by some Nigerians.
Legit.ng reports that he described the attacks on the northern elders as an allergy to the truth, adding that those attacking them couldn't save them from the menace of kidnapping and killings.
In a tweet posted on his Twitter page on Monday, February 10, Sani said that if Professor Ango Abdullahi is a general without a troop, the ones with troops were unable to save them from the menace of kidnappings.
He said the government should embrace the bitter, uncomfortable and inconvenient truth of the elders and make amends.
Sani stated: "Attack on northern elders is an allergy to the truth. If Professor Ango Abdullahi is a General without a troop, the ones with troops are unable to save us from d menace of kidnappings & killings. The government embrace the bitter, uncomfortable & inconvenient truth of the elders & make amends."
But in his reply to Sani's tweet, a Twitter user, Alameen Bello Balarabe, said Prof Ango Abdullahi was wrong to have called President Muhammadu Buhari a general without a troop, adding that the president has done his best in tackling insecurity in the country.
Also in his reaction, another Twitter user, Fash360degree, said that anybody who says anything against the government of President Buhari is believed to be speaking the truth while those that pitch their tent with them are portrayed in a bad light.
"Today, every1 who says anything against PMB govt is saying the truth. 1st Where were the truths and these coaches before & when the problems started? Didn't the elders have truths to prevent their sons forming, joining BH, Bandits etc?" he said.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had previously reported that Sani reacted to reports on the neutralisation of Ansaru bandits in the state by the police.
It was reported that he called on the police to show proof of the feat in their recent operation.
The former lawmaker said that doing this is important because, for most Nigerians, the evidence is the only condition for trust and belief.
