Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen continued his fine goal scoring form in the Ligue 1 as he got Lille’s opener in a 2-0 away win against Angers on Friday, February 7.
Osimhen scored his 12th league goal of the season as he handed Christophe Galtier's men the lead in the 14th minute thanks to a fine assist from Jonathan Bamba.
Bamba launched a long ball to Osimhen who brought it down perfectly before lobbing the ball over Angers goalkeeper Ludovic Butelle.
It was Osimhen’s 17th goal in all competitions this season as he has also registered four assists.
Former Bayern Munich and Swansea City midfielder Renato Sanches sealed the win for Lille with 15 minutes left to play as the game ended 2-0.
Osimhen was later replaced in the 80th minute by new signing Nico Gaitan with a resounding ovation from the travelling supporters.
The win sees Lille maintain fourth position in the French league.
Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Victor Osimhen who is currently having a wonderful season in France has been ranked among the most expensive U23 strikers in the world.
Osimhen was ranked the 12th most expensive U23 striker in the world by Transfermarkt.co.uk with Paris Saint-Germian forward Kylian Mbappe leading the pack.
According to the report, Osimhen is worth £27m alongside Brazilian pair Wesley and Joelinton of Aston Villa and Newcastle.
Meanwhile, it has been reported that Real Madrid and Barcelona have not given up on the signing of Victor Osimhen and they will go for him again this summer.
Lille are considering allowing Victor Osimhen to leave the side if they can get €35m from any club that is interested in signing him.
Osimhen has scored four goals for Super Eagles since he broke into the first team playing seven games so far for the three-time African champions.
