- Raheem Sterling will not be able to play for weeks due to injury he suffered against Spurs
- This latest development was confirmed by the Citizens' manager Pep Guardiola
- Guadiola also stressed that he does not know when the England international will return
Reigning Premier League champions Manchester City have been hit with a severe blow as they will now be without their superstar Raheem Sterling who has been ruled out for weeks.
The England international suffered an hamstring injury in his side's Premier League defeat against Tottenham and limped out of the game.
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has now confirmed that he does not even know when Raheem Sterling will be back into action which shows how serious the injury is.
A scan is said to have been done which revealed damage to Raheem Sterling's left hamstring and he will need to be operated before taking time to recuperate.
Guardiola explained that it will be a serious problem for his side to cope without Raheem Sterling, but added that they will try to focus in his absence.
The Citizens have played 25 English topflight games this season in which Raheem Sterling has only missed two games.
Awesome news for the Citizens now is that German football star Leroy Sane has started training and Pep Guardiola will hope he gets fit soon so as to be drafted in to the first team.
Since August 4 last year when Leroy Sane suffered a serious injury in the Community Shield against Liverpool, he has not played since then.
Meanwhile, the Citizens are currently occupying second position on the Premier League standings and they are 22 points behind leaders Liverpool.
The Reds have been tipped to win this season's Premier League title, and they can even be confirmed as champions by the end of March.
Last term, the Reds also tried to win the Premier League title before losing the trophy to Manchester City on the last day of the term.
Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Liverpool players are now set to receive big bonus should they win the 2019/20 Premier League title in which Jurgen Klopp's men have been tipped to be crowned champions.
This term, Liverpool have been good in the topflight and they remain the only club yet to be defeated after 25 games played drawing only one game.
