- Asisat Oshoala was on target for Barcelona women's team against Atletico Madrid days after playing a draw in a league match
- The Nigerian star scored a 43rd-minute goal to help them reach the final of the Spanish Women's Super Cup final
- Oshoala has now scored her 17th goal of the season across competitions
Super Falcons superstar Asisat Oshoala once again showed up when it mattered most after firing Barcelona Ladies into Spanish Women's Super Cup final on Thursday night.
The same night their Lionel Messi and his colleagues crashed out of the men's category of the cup competition after losing to Athletic Bilbao at San Mames.
A goal each from Patri Guijarro, Lieke Martens, and Oshoala in the encounter handed Lluis Cortes' ladies the much-needed victory in a tough encounter.
Having failed to find the back of the net in their league game late last month, Toni Duggan gave the host an early lead just after three minutes of action.
But a 12th-minute equaliser from Guijarro leveled parity for the Catalan Ladies, while the visitors took the lead for the first time in the 27th minute through a strike from Martens.
The reigning African football queen struck just two minutes from half time to give them a two goals advantage heading into the dressing room.
Although Charlyn pulled one back to reduce her side's deficit, it was not enough to stop them from crashing out of the championship at the penultimate stage.
The Nigerian star was however taken off the game in the 77th minute with Aitana Bonmati taking her place for the remainder of the fixture.
But before then, the Super Falcons star scored another goal minutes into the second half but her goal was chopped off by the referee.
Oshoala's tally across competitions has now risen to 17 goals in 21 appearances for the Catalan Ladies so far this campaign.
Lluis Cortes' ladies are also at the summit of the league table with 50 points from 18 matches - nine points better than Atletico Madrid.
The Blaugranes are chasing their fifth Spanish women's league title this season.
Legit.ng earlier reported that Asisat Oshoala was on song for Barcelona Ladies as they recorded a 3-0 win over Sevilla to stay unbeaten in the league.
And two of Super Falcons stars including Oshoala and Sevilla's newly-signed Uchenna Kanu played against each other.
Oshoala and Sevilla's American striker Toni Oyedupe Payne gave their respective opponents a run for their money as they both created chances out of nothing but failed to convert.
