Insecurity: Gunmen kill three in fresh attack on Kaduna village

- A fresh attack by unknown gunmen has claimed three lives in Kaduna state

- Two Fulani men and a trader were reportedly killed in the attack which happened at Kaura local government area of the state

- The attack which reportedly happened on Wednesday, February 5, has not been confirmed by the police

As Nigeria battles security challenges, another tragedy has struck in Kaduna state which led to the death of at least three people following an attack by gunmen on Zangon Attakar chiefdom in Kaduna state.

Channels TV reports that the attack which is yet to be confirmed by the police happened on Wednesday, February 5, in Kaura local government area of the state.

The newspaper reports that a source from the Fulani community in the area said he lost two of his kinsmen, adding that the attack also claimed the life of one unnamed trader.

Meanwhile, the operatives of the Nigeria police recorded a ground-breaking success in a counter-terrorism operation they carried out on Wednesday, February 5, in Kaduna state.

According to police spokesperson, Frank Mba, the operation was carried out by the special operatives of Operation Puff Adder in collaboration with the special forces of the Police Airwing.

Legit.ng gathers that the operatives invaded the camp of the Ansaru terror group in Kuduru Forest, Birnin Gwari, Kaduna state and killed over 250 members of the group.

The camp also reportedly housed bandits and kidnappers.

The operation was conducted following intelligence which linked the camp elements with the series of violence across the country.

Operatives of the police who were sadly injured in the operation are reportedly receiving treatment and are in a stable condition.

According to Mba, the officers sustained minor injuries after the bandits attacked the police helicopter providing assistance for the ground troops from the air.
