The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has intensified its effort in the insurgency war as its Air Task Force (ATF), launched Operation Rattle Snake 3 against terrorists’ elements.
The operation commenced on Tuesday, February 4, and it is targeted against locations within the northeast, according to a report by Vanguard.
The aim of the operation is to further degrade whatever is left of the terrorist sect and deny the Boko Haram insurgents freedom of action.
The strikes resulted in the destruction of a hideout. Also, some ISWAP fighters in the Lake Chad area of northern Borno state were neutralised, the NAF spokesperson said.
Reacting to the news on social media, one Zwkariyya Muhammed was of the opinion that the should not be publicised. "Why must it be captured on media, if it's efficient we will feel the impact," he wrote.
Some others who reacted to the report said Nigerians want to see results.
Legit.ng previously reported that the Nigerian Air Force carried out airstrikes against Boko Haram terrorists as it launched operation rattlesnake in the northeast.
This was revealed in a statement by NAF spokesperson. According to Daramola, the operation commenced on Tuesday, December 10, 2019, and targeted specific locations.
It would be recalled that the NAF air task force for Operation Lafiya Dole decimated scores of Boko Haram terrorists located at the Sambisa forest in Borno state.
A statement by the Air Force noted that some of the structures belonging to the insurgents were also destroyed in massive airstrikes conducted at Kokiwa and Bula Korege in the state.
