It is no news that American rap star, Lil Wayne, has lots of fans in Nigeria. Well, it turns out he may actually have more than just fans in the country, following his recent discovery about his original roots.

In a recent interview with Revolt TV, he was asked about one of his songs in which he mentioned being Nigerian. It goes: "Shout out to Nigeria, I did my 23 and me ancestry dot com and my sh*t came back like 53% Nigerian. Yea! Me and my mum need to have a talk (Laughter)."

Explaining his reasons, he stated that he recently traced his roots to Nigeria using an ancestral search, and discovered he was actually 53% Nigerian. When asked if he'd love to visit the country, he answered in the affirmative.

This is not the first time the rapper is expressing his interest in Nigeria. Shortly after Cardi B's visit, Lil Wayne was captured on video stating he would love to visit the country. He gave the reply when he was asked about countries he was yet to visit.

From the look of things, Lil Wayne might just be the next American rap star to step foot on Nigerian soil!
