Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that seventeen-year-old teen climate activist Greta Thunberg was yet again been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize.

Thunberg's climate activism was responsible for her nomination, two lawmakers from Sweden, Jens Holm and Hakan Svenneling, said.

Recall that Thunberg was first nominated for the honour in 2019 by a group of Norwegian parliament members, but it went to Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed.

The lawmakers said Thunberg has worked hard to make politicians open their eyes to the climate crisis.

They said: "Action for reducing our emissions and complying with the Paris Agreement is therefore also an act of making peace."

Reacting on Facebook, Teresa Billig said: "I'm delighted to learn that good stewardship, as well as concern for the planet and future generations, has been in Greta's family for generations."

Mike King said: "Funny fact, it would be the second Nobel in the Family, her maternal side got a Nobel in Chemistry. He also coined the phrase "global warming". And did studies on the greenhouse effect."

Shannon Banfield said: "What about all the other people who are doing the exact same thing and have been doing it since before this girl was even born?"

Antonio Lobo said: "The Nobel Prize is losing credibility if someone that passed so little time fighting for a cause can win it. You know, before people had to pass a lifetime researching or doing good things to receive one of those. She comes out of nowhere last year, very young and now this. Looks like to get one of those you just need to know the right people."
