Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim, the director-general of the NYSC, finally cleared the air on the fixed amount for the monthly allowance for members of the scheme.

Speaking at his recent visit to Bauchi, Ibrahim said that the federal government had approved N33,000 as the new allowance for corps members.

The NYSC boss said that the upward review of the stipend was in line with the new minimum wage approved by President Muhammadu Buhari in 2019.

He went on to say that payment of the allowance at the new rate had already been provided for in the 2020 national budget.
