It is no longer news that the Edo state government has been embroiled in a series of crises. The governor’s special adviser on media and communication strategy, Crusoe Osagie recently reacted to attacks on Godwin Obaseki
According to The Nation, Pally Iriase, a former member of the National Assembly, took a swipe at the Edo state governor. However, Osagie in response to the statement said Obaseki’s performance in three years is more significant than the 8-year tenure of Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.
The governor’s media aide in a statement said the crisis in Edo state is a battle between the forces of good and evil as one side prioritizes development.
Osagie speaking further on the state’s issues noted that the crisis is majorly a battle to control Edo state’s resources.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had previously reported that Obaseki ordered a probe into Oshiomhole's administration. Obaseki and the now the national chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) have been at loggerheads.
Both men are in the trenches due to Obaseki’s second term ambition. Governor Obaseki is now looking into the books of the five star Bénin Specialist hospital built during Oshiomhole’s administration and commissioned by President Muhammadu Buhari back in November 2016.
The Edo state government wants the APC national chairman arrested and prosecuted by the security agencies for disobeying state orders. This was disclosed by Edo state deputy governor, Phillip Shuaibu. According to him, a petition requesting the chairman's arrest has been submitted to the Inspector General of Police and the Department of State Services.
