Lagos traffic: Lady thanks God after delivering baby in a cab herself

- A Nigerian lady identified as Nkechi Okechukwu has thanked God after she delivered her baby by herself in a cab

- The lady explained that she got stuck in traffic with her husband on their way to the hospital

- Okechukwu revealed that she delivered a beautiful baby boy

A young Nigerian mother identified as Nkechi Okechukwu has narrated how she delivered her baby boy in a cab by herself while she was stuck in traffic in Lagos state. The lady shared her story on her Instagram page.

Okechukwu explained that she started feeling contractions around 6:30am and she had thought that they were just cramps. The woman noted that around 6:50am she decided to head to Eko Hospital with her husband.

According to the woman, the traffic from Ogba to their destination was heavy and they decided to take another route around Oregun but there was still traffic.

She noted that by 7:30am her water broke and she told her husband and the cab driver so that they would not panic more than necessary. Okechukwu said by then she already knew her baby was coming and nothing was stopping him.

They called a doctor friend who advised her to try not to have the baby until they get to the hospital but by then she could feel the head. She said her next contraction and groan her baby came out without difficulty.

Okechukwu explained that she called her husband's attention to inform him that the baby was out. She added that she was sure that they had already traumatised the driver at that point.

According to her, before her son came out she was praying to God that he should come out, crying hale and hearty and he did.

The woman thanked God for safe delivery and she revealed that her son was named Jaron Ikechukwu Wonderful.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that a behavioural therapist recently narrated how she helped a woman deliver her baby on her way to work. The woman identified as Loveth Adingupu said the woman in labour was helpless and she decided to help her.

Adingupu said she rushed both mother and baby to the hospital after she delivered in Festac area of Lagos state. She said she wrapped the baby in a wrapper and she was scared as they tried to find a hospital nearby. She said the sight of blood all over her body scared her but the baby in her arms gave her the courage to continue.

The therapist recounted how they went around Festac before they found a hospital that would take them in and she also thanked the military man that allowed them to take one way to beat traffic and the keke napep driver who drove them around.
