Christian Pulisic: Chelsea winger doubt for Man United clash

- Christian Pulisic is doubtful for Chelsea's Crunch EPL clash against Man United at Stamford Bridge

- The American star has been out injured since the turn of the new year with a thigh problem

- Pulisic was earlier scheduled to return earlier this month but that is unsure at the moment

Chelsea may have suffered a major set back ahead of their Premier League clash against Manchester United at Stamford Bridge on February 17.

The Blues are most likely to miss the services of American midfielder Christian Pulisic ahead of the crunch clash.

United took advantage of the young London team when they demolished them 4-0 in the reverse fixture earlier in the season.

However, with Chelsea currently sitting fourth on the table, the Old Trafford outfit would have to step up their game if they must earn any point from the game.

Frank Lampard's side has 41 points from 25 league games so far while United can only boast of 36 points after the same number of matches.

Meanwhile, this will be a very good avenue for the Blues to avenge their humiliating defeat at Old Trafford at the start of the term.

The United States international was in line to return to action during the Blues' meeting against Leicester City, but was forced to withdraw from the squad.

And in a quite unexpected turn of events, Chelsea boss, Frank Lampard, has hinted it is unlikely his star man will be ready for the United EPL cracker.

"It is hard to answer [when he will return]. We tried to get him out this week and step it up a little bit but we had to pull out of that," Metro UK quoted Lampard.

"Yes, [we miss him] because he’s a quality player and was having a really good patch pre-Christmas. ‘But others have to stand up too. But, of course, we’ll be happy to have him back," the Englishman added.

The former Borussia Dortmund forward who has found the back of the net five times in the Premier League this season has been sidelined since the turn of the new year.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Kepa Arrizabalaga could be on his way out of Chelsea as reports claim Frank Lamaprd is in the market for a new shot-stopper in the summer.

According to news media outlet Cope, the Spaniard could have played his last game for the Blues after Willy Caballero took his place in the 2-2 draw against Leicester City.

It is understood Kepa would leave the club if he is being preferred as the second choice at Stamford Bridge.
