Resignation: APC group vows to expose NASS members plotting Buhari's fall

- Some members of the All progressives Congress have been accused of plotting President Muhammadu Buhari's failure

- The council said these politicians are hiding behind some lawmakers to call for the resignation of President Muhammadu Buhari

The ruling All Progressives Congress Progressive Youth Council has said it will reveal the identities of its members in the National Assembly behind the call for President Muhammadu Buhari's resignation.

The group at a press conference in Abuja on Monday, February 3, said the nefarious activities of some APC members who are behind the call for the president's resignation.

A statement signed by the council's president, Sanusi Sheriff, the APC youth wing cautioned those distributing monies to lawmakers in order to oust President Buhari to desist from such acts.

Sheriff said those behind the plot are desperate politicians hiding in the National Assembly to secure their dream of becoming vice president anytime soon.

The APC youths expressed disappointment with some of its members for succumbing to betray the president and the party they should be holding in high esteem.

They said it is even more shocking that the NASS leadership allowed such a travesty to take place in the first place.

According to the council, the president’s achievements speak for itself and no amount of mischief can bring him down.

The APC youths, however, advised the leadership of the National Assemble never to allow itself to be used as a wiling tool for the destabilization of Nigeria by disgruntled elements.

He said these set of individuals, their overarching objective is to see to the impeachment of President Buhari and nothing less.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that vice president Yemi Osinbajo said the federal government will recruit more soldiers into the Nigerian Military.

The vice president said the planned recruitment of soldiers will ensure there is adequate number of security personnel in the country to contain the security breakdown which is threatening the unity of Nigeria.

Also, the ruling party had earlier warned influential people against making remarks that could incite ethnoreligious fracas in Nigeria.

The party reacting to the ‘prayer protests’ held under the instruction of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) said such is insensitive and selfish partisan narratives by shortsighted groups and individuals.
