Guardiola says Arteta is doing great job at Arsenal despite having one win in seven games

- Guardiola is optimistic that his ex assistant Mikel Arteta is doing well at Arsenal

- Mikel Arteta has collected just nine points from a possible 21 at Arsenal

- He is facing a daunting task of qualifying the Gunners for Champions League

- The Emirates dwellers are sitting 10th on the league standings with 31 points

Pep Guardiola contends his rival at Arsenal Mikel Arteta has had a good start at the Gunners since replacing Unai Emery at the helm.

Arteta was appointed Arsenal permanent boss late December, succeeding Emery who was shown the door for poor results.

The Spaniard made a sensational return to north London from Man City where he was Guardiola's assistant.

In seven of the matches he has managed the Emirates outfit, the former midfielder has collected just one win which came against Man Unied, with the other six ending in draws.

The Sunday, February 2, stalemate at Burnley now leaves Arsenal lying 10th on the log with 31 points, and now face the prospect of missing out on a top four finish this season.

"I know he’s incredibly happy there," Pep was quoted saying when asked if City are missing Arteta.
"He’s doing a great job. His team when I saw some games are doing really well and I’m so happy for him," he continued.
