Edo govt wants police, DSS to arrest, prosecute Oshiomhole

The crises in Edo state has taken another dimension as the state government is seeking arrest and prosecution of Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.

The state wants the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) arrested and prosecuted by the security agencies for disobeying the orders of the state government.

This was disclosed by the deputy governor of the state, Phillip Shuaibu.

He said he was submitting a petition to the Inspector General of Police and the Department of State Services requesting for the chairman's arrest

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that the opposition party condemned Umahi and accused him of indiscipline for endorsing APC's Obaseki.

The party further said Umahi's endorsement of Obaseki had dampened the morale of members.

Dan Orbih, who heads the state chapter of the PDP, made the allegation against Umahi in a letter he sent to the headquarters of the party in Abuja.

Orbih urged Uche Secondus, national chairman of the PDP, to call those endorsing Obaseki to order.

The state's PDP also accused a former senator, Daisy Danjuma, of endorsing Obaseki.

However, the report quoted her as saying she does not regret endorsing Obaseki.

“I have never left the PDP or decamped to any party like others. It is my right to free comment and I have exercised that,” Daisy Danjuma said.

Legit.ng had reported that Umahi declared that nobody can remove Obaseki from his seat as he blessed the Edo governor's bid for a second term.

Umahi offered his blessing on the Edo governor when, Betsy Obaseki and others paid him a courtesy visit in Abakaliki, Ebonyi state.
