- Kenenth Omeruo and Semi Ajayi scored over the weekend for their respective clubs
- Ajayi scored a diving header for West Brom in their 2-0 victory over Luton Town
- Omeruo was among the scorers when Leganes defeated Real Sociedad by 2-1
Super Eagles stars Semi Ajayi and Kenneth Omeruo were on target for their respective clubs in the Championship and La Liga.
West Bromwich Albion returned to winning ways and moved to top of the Championship table following their 2-0 over against Luton Town.
The Baggies ended their seven-game winless run as they took the lead after Donervon Daniels scored an own goal in the 14th minute.
The 26-year-old scored in the 70th minute with a diving header to secure the win as Slaven Bilic's men move back to the top of the league.
Semi-Ajayi has now scored five goals this season and the Nigerian international is looking to break his goal-tally for the season after scoring eight for Rotherham last season.
"It would be nice to beat last season’s tally because that’s the most I’ve ever got. I’m on target at the moment, so hopefully I can keep scoring goals that help the team pick up three points every week. That would be nice," he told the club website.
“Before a game my main focus is a clean sheet but when I get chance to go forward of course I’m thinking about it. Most of the time throughout the 90 minutes my sole focus is on defending.”
Meanwhile, Omeruo also scored his first ever goal for Leganes in their impressive 2-1 win over Real Sociedad.
Alexander Isak put the away side ahead in the 20th minute as Omeruo equalized for the Cucumber Growers four minutes after the interval.
Oscar scored the winner in the 90th minute and put them three points above relegation with 18 points from 22 matches.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Leon Balogun joined Championship side Wigan Athletic on loan after spending two frustrating seasons with Premier League side Brighton.
The Super Eagles defender has been struggling for game time since his summer move from Bundesliga side Mainz in 2018.
Balogun who managed to make only 12 appearances in all competitions for the Seagulls has now joined Wigan to revive his career.
