- Garba is of the opinion that the American system which was inherited by Nigeria is responsible for the confusion in the country
An All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Adamu Garba II, has said Nigeria will do well without foreign countries' interference.
This was in reaction to the recent immigration visa ban slammed on Nigeria by the President Donald Trump-led administration, The Nation reports.
Garba, a former presidential aspirant of the APC, said the entire west can decide to ban Nigeria if they wish, adding that the country does not need their interference.
He said: “The entire west should let us be by banning us if they wish. We don’t need any globalist colonials on our shores anymore."
According to him, the nation has lost more than it gained from its relationship with the west, and it is now time to part ways.
"Our dear nation Nigeria shall do better without foreign interference. Let them ban us if they like. We shall do better without them.”
Garba called on the African giants not to give in to colonial torture. According to him, Nigeria is a free black nation and should not allow anyone to defame it.
Garba has decided he would no longer visit the US, based on the new travel ban. He believes America is not any better than Nigeria. He added that Nigerians should be proud of their country and stay home.
He aims to make sure Nigeria is respected worldwide when he successfully becomes the president.
The young man said the time has come for the nation to discover itself and create systems that for its people.
"Even the American system we inherited is largely to blame for confusion in Nigeria. We have our ways, but we abandoned it. We need our own,” Garba said.
However, a former vice president of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar has expressed sadness over the US immigration visa ban on Nigeria.
Meanwhile, report has it that some key lawmakers of the United States Congress are not happy with the travel ban placed on immigrants from Nigeria by Trump.
