Manchester United announced the signing of Nigerian forward Odion Ighalo for a six-month deal from Chinese league side Shanghai Shenhua as the 30-year-old becomes first Nigerian to sign and don the United jersey.
Ighalo completed a dream sensational EPL return after agreeing to terms with the Old Trafford outfits albeit without no option of purchase at the end of the season.
United were in desperate need of a striker who can fill the void for injured Marcus Rashford and Ighalo emerged on their transfer consideration list.
Red Devils have now beaten both Tottenham and West Ham to the signature of the AFCON 2019 Golden Boot winner around 11 pm on Friday, January 31, despite also being linked with Edinson Cavani and Josh King.
Manchester United fans have now mocked Liverpool with the clip of the former Nigerian international netting two goals against the European champions in 2015.
Ighalo's first spell in Premier League was with Watford between 2014 and 2017. He netted 39 goals in 99 appearances for the Hornets, with two of the 39 goals coming against Liverpool on December 20, 2015, during Watford's 3-0 victory over Jurgen Klopp’s side.
Throwing a jibe at Liverpool, a Man United fan exhumed the video from the archive in a subtle taunting at the Reds.
“Just posting this video that has nothing to do with Odion Ighalo, Liverpool fans would love this,” A Nigerian Man United fan Ugbede Ojo wrote accompanied with the short clip.
The video has seen generated thousands of views and engagements on Twiter alone.
