Uzodinma: Oshiomhole says Buhari excited over APC's victory in Imo

- President Buhari is excited that he has been able to unite the country through Hope Uzodinma's victory in Imo

- APC chairman Oshiomhole revealed this when he presented Uzodinma to President Buhari on Friday, January 31

- With Uzodinma's victory, APC is truly the party ruling at the centre, Oshiomhole said

President Muhammadu Buhari is delighted that his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) returned to its position in the heartland of the southeast region.

This is according to the national chairman of the party, Adams Oshiomhole.

The former labour leader and ex-governor of Edo state made this disclosure on Friday, January 31 after he and the newly-installed governor of Imo state, Hope Uzodinma visited President Buhari in Aso Rock.

Oshiomhole confirmed that he brought Uzodinma officially to the president even though the governor was known

"The purpose of today’s meeting is just to introduce him as the new executive governor of Imo State.

"And of course, President Buhari is very excited that we have established our foothold in the heart of the south-east.

Legit.ng wrote earlier that the governor of Imo state on Friday, January 31, visited the presidential villa in Abuja to meet with the Nigerian leader.

The Imo state governor visited with Oshiomhole, the national chairman of the APC.

Uzodinma was declared the rightful winner of the 2019 governorship election in Imo state by the Supreme Court in a unanimous judgement.

The ruling was however unpopular with several people, including the opposition party, the PDP, which felt the apex court was misled by facts presented by the APC candidate in the election Uzodinma.

Meanwhile, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has taken the protest against the judgement to the international community through a peaceful protest to the embassy of the United States of America and the Consulate of the United Kingdom in Abuja.

The party is protesting the federal government’s alleged disregard for the rule of law. The party's national chairman, Uche Secondus, Enyinnaya Abaribe, who is the Senate minority leader, and others were part of the protest.
