- Odion Ighalo has been welcomed to Old Trafford by Man United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
- The Norwegian manager believes the Nigerian striker will bring something special into the team
- The ex-Watford striker completed a six month loan move from Chinese Super League club Shanghai Shenhua
Odion Ighalo on the last day of the winter transfer window completed a dream move to Man United on a six month deal.
United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is delighted in adding more firepower to his attacking options in his team.
Marcus Rashford is currently out with a back injury and the Red Devils only have Anthony Martial and inexperienced Mason Greenwood in the frontline.
Now that the former Watford striker has been brought into the fold, Solskjaer believes the former Nigerian international will bring something special in the United attack.
"Ighalo is an experienced player," said United manager Solskjaer.
"Odion will come in and give us more option of a different type of a striker for the short spell he's staying with us.
"A great lad and very professional, he will make the most of his time here."
Ighalo played 55 league matches for the Hornets, scoring 16 goals and won the monthly best player award in his first season in the English topflight division.
He helped the Vicarage Road outfit gain promotion in his first season in the Championships and went on to score 15 goals in his debut season in the Premier League.
But the 30-year-old could only score one goal in his second season and fell out with Watford boss and was sold to Chinese Super League side Changchun Yatai.
But that move even gave the Nigerian striker more edge in finding the back of the net as he bagged 36 goals in 55 matches for his new side.
Ighalo then made a move to Shanghai Shenhua after Yatai were relegated and he has so far notched up ten goals in 17 matches including an FA Cup win.
The former Super Eagles striker was top scorer at the AFCON 2019 tournament in Egypt, beating the likes of other high profile strikers in the continent including Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Odion Ighalo has finally ended speculation after completing a six-month loan with an option to be made permanent with Premier League giants Man United.
The former Super striker completed a last minute agreement with the Premier League giants few minutes before the winter transfer window ended.
