Manchester United have completed the signing of Nigerian striker Odion Ighalo on a six-month loan deal from Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua, springing reaction from Nigerians on the cyberspace.
Legit.ng had earlier reported that Ighalo emerged transfer target for the Premier League giant as a potential replacement for injured Marcus Rashford.
United have now landed the Nigerian international on a loan deal without an option of buy at the end of the season after both sides agreed on personal and financial terms.
30-year-old forward has two years left on his contract with the Chinese side but the mutual agreement with his club has now seen him depart for Old Trafford on the deadline of January transfer.
The stellar striker scored a sum of 17 goals in 55 Premier League appearances for the Watford before sealing a move to Chinese League One in 2017.
Ighalo has scored a massive ten goals for the Chinese side in just 17 appearances since joining them.
