President Muhammadu Buhari has confirmed the appointment of Taiwo Adeniran as the Surveyor-General of the Federation (SGOF).
Abu Michael, Head of Press and Public Relations, office of the SGOF, made this known in a statement issued on Friday in Abuja.
According to Michael, the appointment was conveyed in a letter signed by Babatunde Fashola, Minister of Works and Housing. The letter was dated Jan. 29, 2020.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), reports that Adeniran, before his confirmation, had acted as SGOF since Oct. 2019, following the retirement of Kurfi Muhammed, his predecessor.
“The appointment is for a term of four years in the first instance and is renewable upon satisfactory performance,” the letter said.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that the Advocates for Social Justice for All (ASJA) and Concerned Civil Society Organizations for Transformation (CCSOT) passed a vote of confidence on the chief executive officer for the Metallurgical Training Institute, Olabode Fakuade.
The organisation said that Nigeria is doing well in metallurgy under the leadership of Fakuade as the institute has recorded tremendous strides since his appointment by President Muhammadu Buhari in 2015.
Established in 1981, MTI is a parastatal under the federal ministry of mines and steel development, mandated to train Nigerians in the area of maintenance engineering with the aim of fast-tracking technological development.
