Nigeria’ll soon reap reward of Operation Amotekun - Makinde

- Governor Seyi Makinde has said that the establishment of Amotekun would strengthen security architecture in the southwest

- The governor declared that the new security outfit would be beneficial to Nigerians

- Makinde stressed that he had fruitful deliberation with the IGP over security reports on the state

As the debate on the Operation Amotekun Initiative established by the southwest governors continues, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state, on Thursday, January 30, made a fresh update on the new security outfit.

The Sun reports that the governor promised that Nigeria would begin to reap reward of the Operation Amotekun very soon.

Legit.ng gathered that he made the disclosure during the opening of a three-day annual general conference of Cherubim and Seraphim Unification Church of Nigeria, entitled: Enlarge the place of thy tent, at the sacred Cherubim and Seraphim Church general headquarters’ secretariat, Ashi, Orita Bashorun area of Ibadan, the capital of the state.

Makinde, who was received by the supreme head of the church worldwide, Solomon Alao, also said he had a 30-minute fruitful deliberation with the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Adamu, over the situation reports on the injunction restraining the sacked chairmen from the forceful takeover of local government secretariats in the state.

Makinde, however, said his administration needs prayers so that he would be able to deliver dividends of democracy, which he promised, adding that the recent forceful takeover of local government secretariats by sacked council chairmen was a calculated move by the All Progressives Congress (APC) to cause troubles for the Peoples Democratic Party-led administration in the state.

He said he would not make further comment on the issue because the development has become a subject of litigation.
