Cedric Soares: Arsenal confirm 6-month loan deal for Portuguese star from Southampton

Cedric Soares has joined Arsenal in a six month deal after frustrating spell with fellow Premier League side Southampton.

Arsenal confirmed the signing of the right-back on deadline day and is set to act as cover for Hector Bellerin.

The 28-year-old's contract at St. Mary's is set to expire at the end of the season and could be handed a permanent deal at the Emirates based on performances.

The Portugal international has lost his place in the national team and looking to revive his career for the Euro 2020 tournament.

Cedric joined the Saint in 2015 from Sporting Lisbon and has made 120 appearances combined scoring two goals in the process.

The Portuguese defender completed a loan move to Inter Milan in January 2019 and only managed to play four matches.

Cedric won the Euro 2016 with Portugal but has been left out of the national team since 2018 with 33 caps.
