NYSC members jubilate as they receive N33k monthly allowance

- Excited NYSC members have taken to social media in excitement over their ‘allawee’ increment

- Many were seen on Twitter with hilarious memes on how they intend to spend their money

- An individual urged prospective employers not to pay corps members less than N50k when they start applying for jobs

It appears to be a moment of jubilation for members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme, following a recent increment of the monthly allowance that is paid to them.

Recall that Legit.ng previously reported that Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrami, the director-general of the NYSC, cleared the air on the fixed amount the corps members are to receive on a monthly basis.

Ibrahim disclosed that the federal government had approved the sum of N33k as the new allowance for serving corps members.

The news had immediately set the NYSC members in a mood of excitement as many have often complained about how hard it is to survive on the N19,800 allowance they had been receiving.

Excited youth corps members flooded social media with hilarious memes about how they intend to spend the money when it drops in their accounts. Some noted that they would paint popular night clubs red.

"NYSC please I need 12 months to be added to my service year, I want to obey the clarion call again, again and again," a corps member shared.

Another individual used the opportunity to urge employers of labour to follow the cue of the NYSC and endeavour not to offer them meagre amounts when they apply for jobs.

"Dear employers of labor; #NYSC has started paying corps members N33k, please don’t offer any pay lesser than 50k when they start applying for a position in your companies. We don’t want to see any 'fresh graduate with 3 years experience, pay is 30k' advert. We no go jam agbako o," the tweet read.
