- Brendan Rodgers has revealed the difference between Nigerian star Wilfred Ndidi and N'Golo Kante
- The Northern Irish manager believes both players have their unique qualities in the defensive midfield position
- Ndidi was recently rated among the top ten defensive midfielder in the world
Brendan Rodgers has stated the difference between N'Golo Kante and Wilfred Ndidi who are two of the top defensive midfielders in the Premier League.
Ndidi made a summer move from Genk in 2017 and Kante departed for Stamford Bridge to join Chelsea and both players have been holding their own in the English topflight division.
The Frenchman was part of Leicester's 2015/16 Premier League winning campaign and added another a league title with Chelsea in 2016/17 season as the well as the Europa League title in 2019.
But despite Kante's successes in the defensive midfield position over years Rodgers still believes Ndidi is a different player from the France international.
“I think they’re different,” Rodgers told a news conference on Thursday.
“Wilf (Ndidi) is a young player at 22 but reads the game so well and how he recovers the ball to allow our attacking players to play.
“Both players recover the ball so well, but their play is different.
“Kante’s game is very much the same in terms of having big energy in the game.
“He gets forward a little bit more. Here, he was covering spaces, there, he’s playing more advanced, breaking up the play further up the pitch.
“Wherever he plays, he’s a top-class player. Every team he’s played in he’s made better. A fantastic better.”
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Wilfred Ndidi Nigerian football star has been named as the tenth most valuable defensive midfielder in the world.
The Super Eagles star has been superb for his Premier League side Leicester City since he arrived in January of 2017.
Ndidi has been the EPL's best tackler for the last two seasons - beating Everton and Senegal star Idrissa Gueye to the record on both occasions.
Legit.ng also stated that Chidozie Awaziem has labeled Leicester City star Wilfred Ndidi as the most hardworking Super Eagles star.
Ndidi has been on top of his game since he joined the Premier League outfit in January 2017 from the Belgian League side Genk.
The Foxes' star has finished atop of the best tackler in the English topflight in the last two seasons - but his hopes of retaining the record this term might be threatened.
