- The legendary singer paid a visit to a popular radio station in the city and ran into singer Asa

- Excited Kidjo warmly embraced Asa and described her as ‘omo iya mi’

Just a few days after receiving her 4th Grammy Award in Los Angeles, for her Celia album which was nominated in the World Best Album category, an old video of legendary African musician Angelique Kidjo, has surfaced online.

Legit.ng recently sighted the video which was shared on micro blogging platform, Twitter, by a user on the platform identified as @omoba_scholes, which captured the moment the multi-talented music icon walked into the studio of popular radio station, Smooth 98.1 FM.

Kidjo appeared to be in very high spirits as she was seen cheerfully engaging people present in the room. One of the female staffs requested for a hug from the musician and she humbly granted the request saying “come in here and get it.”

The overjoyed lady embraced Kidjo and also lifted her off the floor.

Moments later, multiple award winning Nigerian singer Asa walked into the studio and the two superstars engaged in a warm and tight embrace for several seconds.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that the Beninese musician was nominated alongside Burna Boy at the Grammies gave a heart-melting acceptance speech in which she hailed the Nigerian music superstar for his musical talent.

Kidjo started off her speech by dedicating the award to Burna Boy, she that he is one of the African artistes changing the way Africa as a whole is perceived.

Similarly, Burna Boy also appreciated Angelique Kidjo following her victory at the Grammy Awards. This came shortly after she won the Best World Music category in which they were both nominated. Burna Boy took to his Instagram page to share the message.
