Brazilian football giants Flamengo have confirmed that their star defender Pablo Mari will be making a move to join Premier League campaigners Arsenal.
The 26-year-old has however joined the Gunners on loan until the end of the ongoing Premier League season with an option to buy completely when the term comes to an end.
Arsenal paid Flamengo the sum of £4 million for the signature of Pablo Mari who has flown to the Emirates stadium from Brazil.
"Pablo Mari, thanks for everything,'' Flamengo explained.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta wants to bolster his squad this month so for the Gunners to be able to fight for the top four in the Premier League.
Arsenal chiefs and Flamengo are said to have agreed a deal on Tuesday night, January 28, before the North London side later confirmed the signing of the player
This will now be the second time that the Brazilian will be going to England.
He was at Manchester City between 2016-2019 even though he never played any game for the Etihad landlords before being loaned to Girona.
Mari played on loan throughout his stay with Manchester City before being sold to Flamengo in July 2019.
Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Arsenal new boss Mikel Arteta completed his first signing after handing club youngster Harry Clarke a new long term deal.
Arteta spent the last three seasons assisting Pep Guardiola at Manchester City and won two Premier League titles in the process.
