Nollywood actor Juwon Awe reportedly killed by unknown gunmen

- Fast-rising Nigerian actor, Juwon Awe, has reportedly been shot dead

- The Yoruba film star was reportedly killed on his way to Ilorin with an actress, Toyoosi Adesanya

- It was gathered that Juwon was attacked by armed bandits

The month of January 2020 seems like an extension of the ember months seeing as a number of terrible things have happened already.

Another tragedy has befallen the Yoruba arm of the Nollywood film industry. Fast-rising Nigerian actor, Juwon Awe, has reportedly been killed.

The young man is said to have lost his life on his way to Ilorin while driving alongside a known female actress, Toyosi Adesanya.

Film star, Ibrahim Chatta, shared the tragic news on his Instagram page as he revealed some details surrounding the unfortunate incident. According to him, Juwon was attacked armed bandits and he was shot dead.

Chatta shared a photo of the late Juwon on his page with RIP written on it. He also accompanied the photo with a caption that reads:

“He was young and promising, full of HOPE. Juwon was working in my industry as a continuity manager and a driver trying to make ends meet. He was attacked and murdered today by the three Fulani and a Yoruba armed bandits while driving a known female Actor (Tooyosi Adesanya) @adesanyatoyosi_ileyemi to Ilorin. Adieu Juwon”.

Speaking further with Premium times, Ibrahim Chatta said that the actress, Toyosi, who was with Juwon at the time of his death is currently receiving treatment for the injuries she sustained.

He said: “The actress, Toyosi, who was with him when they were attacked is currently receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital. Toyosi wasn’t shot but she sustained injuries when they were trying to run away. Sadly, Juwon was shot in the head when he attempted to escape and he died immediately.

“It happened in Ote, which is on the outskirts of Ilorin. Toyosi told me it was a robbery attempt. Toyosi, who was rushed to the hospital after sustaining injuries during the incident was returning. They were attacked and murdered by three Fulani men and a Yoruba armed bandits. Toyosi confirmed this to me.”

In other news, Legit.ng reported that Nigerian comedian, Bovi, also seemed to have been terribly hurt by the news of American basketball player Kobe Bryant's death as he noted that the deceased sportsman had an influence on his life during his formative years.

Bovi took to his official page on the photo-sharing app, Instagram, with a photo of Bryant accompanied with a short caption.
