Chelsea outcast, Olivier Giroud, has reportedly emerged a transfer target for Tottenham as the North London side is desperately in need of a potential temporary replacement for injured Harry Kane.
Kane got injured and has been officially ruled out of action till April. He was lined up for action during Spurs' 1-0 Premier League defeat to Southampton at St Mary but was immediately subbed after being hit with a hamstring injury.
With Jose Mourinho's side lacking in depth upfront, Spurs have made a contact with Chelsea over the purchase of the Frenchman.
Giroud was instrumental to Chelsea's Europa League win last season under former manager Maurizio Sarri but has fallen in rank under Frank Lampard, with the Chelsea boss preferring Tammy Abraham upfront.
The former Arsenal star was previously linked to a move to Inter Milan but the deal was stalled as Antonio Conte does not see any need for a striker since Romelu Lukaku is doing a wonderful job in the attackline.
