- Tariq Lamptey is now on the verge of leaving Chelsea
- The 19-year-old is in talks with French side Lille for a move to France
- His current contract at Chelsea will expire at the end of the ongoing season
Premier League giants Chelsea are now on the verge of losing one of their youngsters Tariq Lamptey after being linked with a summer move to French side Lille.
The 19-year-old defender whose contract at Stamford Bridge will expire at the end of the season is reportedly in talks with Lille over a move to France.
And if Chelsea want him to remain at Stamford Bridge, then they will have to offer the Englishman an impressive new deal that will convince him to stay.
Tariq Lamptey made his senior debut for Chelsea in December 2019 in the Blues Premier League 2-1 win over big London rivals Arsenal.
Chelsea manager Frank Lampard also gave the defender two more appearances in the FA Cup in his bid to bring him fully into the first team squad.
But according to the report on UK Sun, Tariq Lamptey is thinking about his future at Chelsea with fears over Cesar Azpilicueta and Reece James blocking him from playing active football.
That gives French side Lille the chance to be talking with him over a possible move to France when the seasons comes to an end.
And even considering his age, Tariq Lamptey has the chance to sign a pre contract with any club outside England ahead of permanent move in the summer.
Blues' manager Frank Lampard is trying hard this season to make sure that his side finish among the top four on the standings when the term ends.
He replaced Maurizio Sarri who moved to Juventus and was given the mandate to bring more titles to Stamford Bridge.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are currently occupying fourth position on the Premier League table with 40 points after 24 games played this season.
