- Nigerians have taken to social media to react to Naomi Campbell's open letter to the Grammys
- Many of them have expressed support for her letter in which she calls for Afrobeat categories to be made
- This comes after Burna Boy lost to Angelique Kidjo in the 'Best World Music' category
Earlier on, Legit.ng reported the news of how top British model, Naomi Campell, took to social media to speak on Burna Boy's loss at the Grammys.
According to her, it was a lack of education on the part of the organizers, and she spoke about the need to create more categories that represent Afrobeats.
Her post which has since gone viral on the social media platform was welcomed with applause by many Nigerians on the internet, many of whom took to the platform to react.
According to them, the Grammys need to stop putting Afrobeats in World Best Music category since the winner is only determined by votes in the USA. Rather, their own category should be created.

However, this Twitter user did not share in the general opinion. According to him, Afrobeats does not contribute to the US economy in any way and thus cannot have a category.
He used Asian pop group, K-pop as an example as despite their fame and status, are yet to have a category that represents their genre of music.

Meanwhile, despite the disappointment of many Nigerian music lovers, Burna Boy appears to have taken it in good stride and has even gone ahead to send a sweet message to Kidjo after she dedicated her award to him.
He wrote: "I love you forever @angeliquekidjo and every single person that rooted for me, I don’t take any of it lightly! The world get ready cause we’re all coming!"
