Sadio Mane: Klopp confirms Liverpool striker will not play against West Ham

- Sadio Mane will not feature in Liverpool's Premier League matches against West Ham and Southampton

- The Liverpool striker was forced off in the Red's 2-1 win against Wolves at the Molineux in their last EPL fixture

- Mane has scored 11 league goals this season and two in the Champions League for Jurgen Klopp's side

Sadio Mane is set to miss Liverpool's trip to the London Stadium to take on West ham in their outstanding Premier League match.

The Reds remain unbeaten this season and a win for Jurgen Klopp's side will see them go 19 points clear on top of the table.

Mane was substituted in the Merseysider's 2-1 win against Wolves at the Molineux and Klopp has confirmed the Senegalese striker will not be available for the clash.

"Sadio will not be involved for West Ham and probably not Southampton. After that he will be back on track.

“He has a small muscle tear which is serious enough. We were lucky with it though it wasn't too serious. He's out for three games."

The 2019 African Footballer of the Year has scored 11 league goals this season and has been pivotal to Liverpool's qualification into the Champions League round of 16 with two goals.

With Mane out of the tie at West Ham, Klopp could opt for Belgian striker Divock Origi in the attacking trio including Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino.

Mathematically, the Premier League leaders only need nine wins out their 15 matches to clinch their first title in over 30 years.

The current European champions have only dropped a point this season against Manchester United at Old Trafford last October.

But they have won 67 points from a possible 69 as they look clear to unseat Manchester City as champions of England for the 2019-20 season.
