Emmanuel Adebayor could be making a return to the Premier League after emerging as a January transfer target for Newcastle United, Aston Villa and Brighton.
After leaving Turkish club Kayserispor in December 2019 where he scored two goals in eight games, the former Arsenal striker is now a free agent.
Adebayor is not a new name in the Premier League having played for the likes of Arsenal, Tottenham, Crystal Palace and Manchester City.
According to the report on UK Sun, a source who is close to Adebayor explained that the Togolese striker has unfinished project in the Premier League.
He scored 97 Premier League goals before he left England and he wants to make it 100 and more if he returns to the English topflight.
The report added that Emmanuel Adebayor also wants to beat the 104 Premier League goals' record of former Chelsea striker Didier Drogba.
Newcastle United have been linked with a huge takeover from a consortium who are being backed by Saudi Arabia family.
And if that takeover comes to reality, then Newcastle United are expected to enter into the transfer market to get some players.
They are currently occupying 14th position on the Premier League standings with 30 points after 24 games.
Aston Villa on the other hand who have also been linked with a move to sign Emmanuel Adebayor are battling to escape relegation this season in the Premier League.
